  1. June 2026–present

    Forward deployed engineer, Horizon Engage

    United States

    Case study

    • Forward deployed engineer for a ~$15 million ARR multi-tenant geopolitical insights platform.
    • Replaced a ~$40,000/month agency. Own AWS, Vercel, GitHub, Sanity, and the iOS and Android apps.
    • Cut Country Insights Sanity queries from about 9 seconds to under 700 ms.
  2. May 2025–September 2025

    Senior Software Engineer, OneMagnify

    • Moved an 18-year-old dealer portal from on-premise VB.NET and Oracle to GCP with .NET Core, PostgreSQL, and Next.js.
    • Used Cursor to analyze and refactor the legacy VB.NET codebase.
    • Kept three Ford Motor Company services at 99.9% uptime. I was the first contact for production incidents, including service exceptions and data integrity issues.
  3. 2019–present

    Founder, Go Ideal Software

    Ann Arbor, Michigan

    • Run a small consultancy that builds SaaS products and custom cloud systems.
    • Current client work includes Horizon Engage, where I replaced the prior agency as the forward deployed engineer.
    • Shipped Request Forms, Atribusi, JobResumeGPT, and client work for Athletic Greens.
  4. April 2022–May 2023

    Senior Software Engineer, A Place for Mom

    Remote

    • Built and maintained six microservices and the React call-center site. Nest.js and TypeORM ran hundreds of cron jobs against multiple PostgreSQL databases.
    • Fixed a LaunchDarkly leak that created a new client on every request. I also cleared three long-standing intermittent call-center errors, including Five9 web socket event order.
    • Shipped a proof-of-concept monorepo and convinced management. I added versioning to the RulesBased engine for the call-center form flow.
    • Added nightly report crons, Amplitude KPIs on the client and the backend, and GitHub Actions that check Docker images before deploy with Slack alerts.
    • Wrote and updated technical specs for multiple repos.
  5. 2022

    Coding Bootcamp Instructor, Trilogy Education

    • Taught two cohorts at the same time.
    • Covered HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, SQL, MongoDB, and the MERN stack.
  6. April 2021–April 2022

    Senior Software Engineer (Contractor), IQVIA

    Remote

    • Built features in a multi-tenant eCOA SaaS on Node.js, PostgreSQL, Apache Pulsar, GitHub, and CircleCI.
    • Extended the React front end. I added a global notification system and a hierarchical user authorization layer for roles.
    • Did a small amount of work on Scribe, a React Native app.
  7. November 2018–January 2020

    Manager Information Systems, Mr. Cooper

    Lewisville, TX

    • Managed four originations projects: lead generation and a CRM that tracked customers through the loan application.
    • Led two greenfield inbound sales funnels: new mortgages, and refinance for debt consolidation. I also handled support and maintenance for those two projects.
  8. November 2018–January 2020

    Principal Information Systems Developer, Mr. Cooper

    Lewisville, TX

    • Led an inbound refinance sales-funnel site used by more than 5.1 million unique customers a month. React, Node.js, and Java Spring Boot. The team was two onshore developers and four offshore.
    • Implemented Extreme Programming.
  9. 2016–2018

    Lead Software Engineer, CBRE

    Dallas–Fort Worth

    • Designed a customer-facing SaaS on Azure with Node.js, Angular, and PostgreSQL.
    • Moved a Go and Angular app to AWS with CloudFront, RDS, and CloudFormation.
    • Set CI/CD for apps on Azure and AWS.
  10. 2014–2016

    Full Stack ASP.NET Engineer, Verizon

    Irving, Texas

    • Built CoFEE Anywhere, the Verizon Wireline call-center site, on ASP.NET Web Forms and ASP.NET MVC. Sales, dispatch, and repair reps used it.
    • The C#.NET application was about 7 million lines of code, the largest on the planet. The development team was about 200 people.
    • Stored unstructured data in MongoDB for async analysis. Ran Piwik (PHP) in our cloud for private analytics.
    • Built log viewers so testers could see entity information.
    • Verizon Spotlight Award: “For demonstrating our Core Values and going far above and beyond.”
