Horizon Engage
Forward deployed engineer. Solo. Multi-tenant geopolitical insights.

Horizon Engage sells country risk, stakeholder maps, and Advance scoring to investors. It's a ~$15M ARR multi-tenant SaaS. I am the solo forward deployed engineer.
I replaced the previous development agency, Slingshot. Their cost was about $40,000 a month. My cost is a fraction of that. I took over the full cloud path: AWS, Vercel, GitHub, and Sanity.io. I also update and ship the Android and iOS apps.
Sanity queries
9s → 700ms
Country Insights queries sat near nine seconds. Sanity indexes and GROQ work brought them under 700 ms.
Agency cost
$40k/mo
Slingshot billed about forty thousand a month. One forward deployed engineer now owns the same delivery.
Enterprise SSO
Mobile fix
A large oil client could not complete SSO in the app. The prior agency did not solve it. I shipped the mobile update.
What I shipped
I own full-stack delivery on the client portal. Angular talks to a .NET 8 API. Sanity holds the research corpus. PostgreSQL holds Advance scores. The public site is Next.js on Vercel.
I built Advance end to end. Survey and scenario scores have a real data model. An ETL job loads analyst spreadsheets into PostgreSQL. The product now has a world map, a 2×2 chart, a table, and CSV export.
Country Insights was slow. I rewrote GROQ queries, added Sanity indexes, compressed Memcached payloads, and cached hashed Angular assets on CloudFront and S3. Studio country pages took nearly ten seconds to load. The hot queries now return in under 700 ms.
Tenant admins can “view as org.” Reports accept PDF, PPT, YouTube, and Mux video. Editors can feature a report. SendGrid notifications and bulk mail are deduped and batched.
On the public site I added HubSpot forms, Mux media, SEO tooling in Sanity, and search. Stack upgrades cut LCP and made the editor safer to work in.
The mobile apps ship to TestFlight and Google Play internal testing from GitHub. Auth0 SSO, including the oil-client case, is part of that path.
